Old-fashioned apple pie





* Ingredients:


°2 Granny Smith apples


°1 cup water


°1 cup fractionated sugar


°1 stick of butter


° 1/4 tsp. Vanilla extract


°8 packaged cookies (I use Pillsbury butter)


° 4 teaspoon ground cinnamon


* Directions :


The oven is heated to 375 degrees. Peel, pulp and slice the apples vertically into 8 slices per slice. Cover with cold water to prevent browning while preparing the rest of the recipe.


In a medium saucepan, combine the water with 3/4 cup of sugar, butter and vanilla on the stovetop and bring the mixture to a boil.


Separate each cookie in half. Wrap a layer of cookie dough around a slice of apple, stretching it slightly and covering the bottom.


Place the rolled slices, side down, on a 9 x 13 baking sheet. Pour the hot sugar mixture over the apple slices.


Combine a quarter cup of the remaining sugar with the cinnamon and sprinkle over the rolled apples. Bake for about 36 min. Serve something warm with vanilla and ice cream!
